An fheadhainn tha laighe sàmhach (They lie still and silent) focuses on researching the effects of the First World War on the population of North Uist, in particular the 139 men who lost their lives, and the lasting effects on the island’s way of life, through a series of ceilidhs where members of local groups, school children and the public will share stories, poetry, artifacts. In addition a series of individual recordings are planned to take place in people’s homes.Heritage lottery logo
